Kate's Bio:

My background is incredibly varied, starting with Barrel Racing and Roping as a kid, to Show Jumping on the South American International circuit while living in Argentina! I have shown in National and Regional Breed shows for Arabians, Morgans, Quarter Horses and Paints. I rode for Oregon State University on both the Event Team and the Hunter/Jumper Team.
I started my training career in 1992, when Inavale Farm in Philomath, OR. hired me on as their Head Trainer. Inavale was a Morgan show horse barn, but was looking to expand into the Sport Horse world. We built a strong lesson program and eventually hired 2 more assistant instructors, built a wonderful Cross-Country course, and opened the barn to a variety of breeds and disciplines.
After  5 years at Inavale, I went out on my own as an Independent Trainer. I was competing Arabians, Morgans, Quarter Horses, Paints, Thoroughbreds, and Warmbloods in Dressage, Show Jumping, Eventing, and Regional Breed Shows. The variety of horses and disciplines taught me how to be a real horsewoman and listen to each horse, formulating specific programs for each horse.
I continued as an Independent Trainer in OR, AK, WY, and now AZ. I am the Head Trainer and Barn Manager for Northern Arizona Riding Stables in Flagstaff, AZ. I travel to multiple barns around Flagstaff, teaching and training. I am available for clinics and will be holding several at NARS in the Summer of 2010. I will also be hosting several schooling jumper shows throughout the year at NARS. Check this website for updates.

One of which offered trail riding in the summer where Lauren guided for their dude string. The other specialized in Hunter/Jumper show horses. In 2003 she moved west to attend Northern Arizona University where she received a degree in Anthropology with a minor in Sociology.
